Electric Bike Tours
Our tours can be either guided or self guided. We have plenty of tried and tested routes but we can also tailor a tour to suit your preferences.
Ride off the beaten track along the beautiful coast of Rye Bay and explore the inland countryside.
See wildlife at the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and add a bit of local interest and history too whilst having fun cycling with friends and family.
We offer several tours of just an hour, half day or a full day. We ride dedicated cycle routes, bridleways and country lanes. Occasionally we have to ride a little way on busy roads.
On the guided tour you will be accompanied by one of our experienced tour guides who knows our tour routes well. They will also provide any maintenance if required. Self guided tours allow you to explore at your own pace. We will provide maps, helmets, locks, advice and back up.
The great thing about ebikes is you don’t need to have specialist cycling experience. You just need to be able to ride a bike and have a bit of confidence and lots of enthusiasm. You will be surprised that even hills are not daunting anymore, making the experience so much more enjoyable. Once you’ve ridden an electric bike you will never look back.
We have a variety of Electric Bikes available to suit most customers needs. They are extremely stylish and simple to use.
Our bikes have a maximum speed of 15.5mph which means that you can cruise along while taking in the wonderful scenery that surrounds you.
A great day out for families and friends. We also offer trailers, child seats and dog carriers. Please note you have to be 14 years or older to ride an electric bike (please refer to our terms and conditions).

Route 1
Rye Harbour Triangle
Rye Harbour Triangle - 7 Miles, Easy
This can be ridden clockwise or anti-clockwise, but anti-clockwise is probably better. Leave the showroom and turn left, heading back up towards Rye. Before the road crosses the River Brede, turn left down the first path, following the yellow and blue arrows.
Through the first gate and you're on the old track bed of a tramway that used to go to Rye Harbour. About 50m after the second gate, follow the path to the right, aiming for the gate into the nature reserve at Castle Water. Take the path that runs close to the water for some very picturesque views of the lake. Through two more gates and head across the field towards Camber Castle. At the Castle, bear right, head past the Starfish Bunker and join the path running next to the River Brede and go upstream.
Exit the field through one gate, onto a concrete road, then through the second gate onto a tarmac road. Turn left when you get to Sea Road and head towards the village of Winchelsea Beach. Turn left up Dogs Hill Road, ride round the green, turn left when you hit the beach and enter Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Here there's miles of car free cycling but just be aware you're sharing the paths with pedestrians, dogs, scooters, pushchairs etc. Pay your respects to the crew of the Mary Stamford on your way past the old lifeboat station and turn left when you come to the River Rother.
The Discovery centre is well worth a visit and you exit the nature reserve not long after. The village of Rye Harbour has a decent pub, The William the Conqueror, a small shop and a cafe. Take the one road out, Harbour Road, join the cycle path where it starts, just past the church, and this will take you back to the showroom.

Route 2
Pootle around Rye
Leave from the Rye Bay Ebikes shop and head into Rye. Visit Mermaid Street, the Citadel and tour the cobbled streets and quaint shops. Visit St Marys Church at the top of the hill, the Castle, Landgate and salts and amble back down along the Quay.

Route 3
Rye Harbour Nature Reserve
One for the twitcher in you! Use your ebike to easily travel between the various hides at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
This ride is approximately 5 miles

Route 4
Winchelsea Circuit
The Winchelsea Circuit - 15 miles, moderate
This is our most popular route and should be ridden anti-clockwise.Leave the showroom, turn left and at the top of Harbour Road, turn right onto the A259. After 150m, just before the road crosses the River Tillingham, take the track to the left, dismount and cross the railway, then turn immediately left when you enter the small park.
You have now joined National Cycle Network no.2, which will take you to Winchelsea, via a picturesque stretch of single track, Dumb Womans Lane, Winchelsea Lane and Station Road. Where Station Road joins the A259, at the hairpin heading up towards Winchelsea, be prepared for a steep uphill section but before the road swings to the right, bear left through The Pipewell Gate, then turn right up School Hill.
This will take you to the crossroads in the middle of Winchelsea. There's plenty to explore here, then once you have, leave Winchelsea along Monks' Walk. Bear left onto Wickham Rock Lane, following signs to Charles Palmer Vineyard. Be careful along these country lanes, as they are narrow and often have mud and grit on the surface. We recommend using the front brake as little as possible on the downhill sections. Wickham Manor, where Charles Palmer is located, is well worth a visit, even just to look at. After this, follow the lane to Pett, turn left at the T-Junction, joining Pett Road. This route takes you past the Royal Oak and along to Chick Hill. Chick Hill is the steepest hill in East Sussex, so take great care whilst descending. This is why we recommend going anti-clockwise, to avoid going up it!
Turn left at the bottom on Pett Level Road, then right up the gravel road to the seafront. There's a short promenade along the beach here, with far reaching views across Rye Bay. At low tide you can also walk across the petrified forest with bits of timber sticking out of the beach that are thousands of years old. Follow the road east as far as Winchelsea Beach cafe, join the path that runs parallel to the beach and this will take you to the Nature Reserve, the River Rother, Rye Harbour and the cycle path back to the showroom.

Lydd Loop
LYDD LOOP (approx. 30 miles)
Leave the showroom, turn left and head into Rye on the cycle path. Turn right onto the A259, taking care of the traffic and follow the road to the round about.
Keep left onto Wish Street and turn left onto Ferry Road and right onto Crown Fields. Cycle past Jempsons supermarket and turn left at the station.
Cycle through the station car park. Past Rope Walk Shopping Centre cross over onto Eagle Road. Go carefully through the gate and turn left onto the A268.
Proceed with caution over the railway bridge and turn right onto Military Road. Follow this all the way to Appledore (approx 3 miles).
Please be aware that although this is a minor road the traffic can be fast, so take care. Turn right at the end of Military Road over Appledore Bridge and immediately right again.
Stay on this quiet lane for a further 3 miles or so, over the railway, past Thomas a Becket Church, until you reach the A259. Cautiously turn right on the A259 for about 250m then turn left past the Woolpack Inn.
Keep right and follow this lane for another 3 miles, joining the National Cycle Network route no.2 at the t-junction. Follow this route for a couple of miles and you will arrive at Lydd. Staying on route no.2 you will pass the church, go round the back of the High Street and leave Lydd on the cycle path adjacent to the Jury's Gap Road. In another 3 miles you will hit the coast.
Cross the road and turn right to join the path along the sea wall and head towards Camber. When you arrive in Camber route no. 2 shares the footpath with pedestrians down the main road through the village. Alternatively you could cut through Johnson's Field which is about 200m down the road on the left. Go past the skate park and overflow car park and into the back of CamberSands Car Park. Please dismount and push your bike over any sand that has blown across this route. Carefully negotiate your way out of here onto Old Lydd Road.
Turn left at the end of Old Lydd Road and rejoin route no.2. This will take you all the way back to Rye. When you reach the A259 turn left and cross the bridge.
At the Fish Shop turn immediately left. Follow the path past the playground to Rock Channel.
At the end be careful on the narrow path to Rock Channel Quay and then continue onto St. Mararets Terrace.
Turn left onto the A259 and follow around Strand Quay.At the round about keep left onto Winchelsea Road.
Turn left at Harbour Road Rejoin the cycle path after Brede Sluice and head back to the showroom
